New Year, New People, New IdeasAlong with the annual changes of President and to the Board, this year we have a new Treasurer, Secretary and Bulletin Editor! A huge amount of thanks goes to the members who have held these positions last year and it will be a hard job filling their shoes. Making use of the new technology now available, we will be expanding the bulletin this year with new features and layout. Please let new editor Richard Parker know what you would like to see kept or changed in your bulletin. Changeover DinnerWhat a fantastic night last Wednesday. Our club changeover was celebrated by a great turnout of over 100 club members, family and friends. As well as Allan passing the presidential chains of office to Linton the club was able to celebrate the fantastic job Les Pearce has done as Secretary over the past 13 years and a major donation of $30 000 from the proceeds of this years Shapeshifter sculpture exibition was given to Te Omanga Hospice Foundation. Keith Quinn the greatest boxing comentator of the1976 Olympics and patron of the Te Omanga Foundation kept everyone entertained with his memories of past Olympic and Paralympic games and his hopes for the games in China this year.

Well what a changeover night ! From the singing of 5 members of the N Z Secondary School choir to Ron`s presentation of a laptop to Les including a sprinkling of Wilsonism`s (ask him to say lovingly), to Les`s acceptance speech dropping the whole audience from a great height with his opening gag, to a wonderful address from Keith Quinn and culminating in President Allan presenting me with the chain of office. This was a humbling and emotional night for me as I accepted the challenge and responsibility of being your President for the coming year.Congratulations to P/President Allan and Trish for organising a truly memorable Changeover. My first official function was on Sunday to attend the District Changeover and accept a Presidential Citation awarded to the Club for achieving the goals set last year by P/President Allan.
