Better late than never!

This should be the last edition of the old email format! In fact, the bulletin last week should have been the last but those who deal with computers know that anything new must be TESTED. When the testing is complete we will have a new interactive bulletin with fantastic new features that will give you more information about your club .
Richard.

D K Lee

As you know this weeks lunch meeting has been CANCELLED to make it possible for members to attend the evening dinner with World President DK Lee. What follows is a brief bio of our new World President of Rotary International, what a special person you must be  to become World President.

He has also served as regional Rotary Foundation coordinator and zone and regional coordinator for membership development. He is chairman of the Polio Eradication Private Sector Initiative in Korea.

One of the most significant goals for the club this year is the allocation of the "Youth Fund" component from Shapeshifter 2008. It is very important that we have a robust process and plan that can clearly identify the best use of our resources to support those groups in our community successfully dealing with at-risk youth through to those working with young achievers.
Accordingly, a Youth Taskforce has been assembled, and given a brief to investigate those groups and compile a detailed recommendation with a report to be presented to the board by the middle of August. The members of the taskforce are Greg Thomas (Chair), Gavin Watson (Deputy), Cameron Tooley, Angie Cousins, Simon Edwards and Ian Orsborn. We are very fortunate, as a club, to have such a mix of youth and experience with the range of skills required for this very important job and I thank them all for agreeing to participate.

We have 23 people attending the World president DK Lee dinner on Wednesday night, which I am sure will be a night to remember. Still not too late for tickets (see Rosemarie)
