Cambodian School Book Fair
Club members are encouraged to donate books for this appeal organised by Simon Edwards. The Cambodian School Book Fair will be held at the Belmont Memorial Hall on Saturday 9th August
Simon needs some "People Power" from 7pm on Friday night to load the donated books onto a truck at the Hutt News offices and unload at the hall. The book fair commences at 10am Saturday 9th August and the club will provide volunteer assistance during the day. David Bekcher and Bill Sheat will be organising a roster for this Project.

This weeks speaker is Jim Cousins
Jim is the Husband of our International Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar Angie Cousins.
Jim will speak this Wednesday on the Electoral system in the USA and how it works. This will provide club members with a unique insight
into an often confusing and drawn out process to elect the most powerful man in the world.
Jim works for Wellington online News Service "Scoop" (www.scoop.co.nz)
President Linton`s Corner
Kia Ora,
Last week`s guest speaker , Judge Joe Williams` message of the changing demographic make up of NZ in the future and its potential impact on the membership of our Club was timely for two reasons - one it was Maori Language Week and two, a similar message was given by the Rotary World President D K Lee at the recent dinner in Wellington. We all need to take heed of these realities in our future planning. Thankyou to all the Club members who contributed a total of $600 last week for the Emergency Box Appeal. The project has been completed and my thanks also go to the organising group of Gavin Watson, Ron Francis and Murray Bond.
Of course next Sunday 3rd Aug,(fingers crossed for good weather), we will have our River Trail Walk - please wear your Hutt Rotary polo shirts & please invite your family and friends. Finally, remember to bring books to the next two luncheons for Simon Edward`s Cambodian School Appeal. He has also asked us to provide some manpower assistance. Please help if you can. Thanks, Linton.
